2001 raptor recalls?
#5
When they took the tranny apart
I looked at the gears
and the 2nd gear has posts(dogs)
that stick out so they engage
in to the next gear and they
break because it's very thin walled
because of the groove for the shifting
fork on the gear and when that happens
it takes alot of other stuff with it
if you are thinking of buying a Raptor
get the 02 model because they say they
change the tranny on them or get the
warranty GOOD LUCK

Problems that I've seen on more than one unit have been carburetors falling off and transmission failures. I've seen a few more problems but nothing major and nothing that seemed to show up on other units.
I have never received a recall for the Raptor concerning any parts for any unit serial number range.

I have had my Raptor for 1 year and 3 months. I have extensive motor mods(686-11.1:1/porting/intake/FMFHiflo/GYT-R cann. etc..). I have had absolutely ZERO problems with it. I also haven't heard of any recalls. I ride alot of high alt mountains, terrain parks etc.. I don't baby my machine at all however I do proper maint. and cleaning. Thats my experience.
