All those that have NOT blown a Raptor tranny, what oil are you using?

Yamaha non-modified semi-synthetic 10-30 or 20-40.

I attribute this to having a healthy clutch though not so much the tranny.

I have serial number 133. I have had it since last September with absolutely no problems. I have a ton of miles on it already. I have used nothing but Yamalube 20W-40. Buy a tranny/crank now or buy a tranny/crank later.

I have used Yamalube 10w-50 semi-senthetic, Maxima 15w-50 fully synthetic, Mobil 1 15w-50 fully synthetic, and now using Valvoline 10w-40 semi-semthetic for winter service.

Were you using the Mobil 1 automotive oil or the motorcycle oil?

Standard Mobil 1 Automotive oil....the Valvoline is as well. The Valvoline does'nt have the new energy conserving ingrediants (however the 5w30 and 10w-30 weights do).

Since last october, I have used these various oils for approx. the following lengths of time...
Yammy oil - 2 months
Maxima - 4 months
Mobil 1 - 7 months
Valvoline - 1 month
