OK I have a pipe and silencer for my trailblazer on the way thanks to Rick Ritter and was wondering about air box mods as I have seen you guys talking about...
What all is involved here, how do I go about it and does it make a differance ???
I will be getting a K&N filter next week so that will be taken care of but do you guys leave the pre filter and air intake tube on, maybe cut the tube down some to get better air flow and leave the pre filter off ???
Thanks 4 any info....

Air box mods are great and very cheap. Very simple install all it basically is a larger aluminum tube piece with a biger entrance for air that replaces your stock rubber piece, and then you add a 3rd hole to your air box, or get rid of it all together if you dont have to worry about weather and you will end up spending 15 for it all max, that is if you have k&n like you do

The air box mod for the Scrambler is not applicable on the TrailBlazer. The T'Blazer has a totally different air box. All you can really do is cut off a couple of inches from the intake.

Don't you need to change jet size when you mod the air box?

After I re-jetted my Grizzly I popped the air box cover off just out of curiosity – it wasn’t a dog, but I couldn’t wheelie anymore. I suspect you would need to re-jet to a larger size to satisfy the engine’s new fuel requirements? I considered modifying the air box with multiple large holes which I could easily plug during deep water runs, but I think the jetting would need to be changed as well. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

You are correct, more air will lean it out a litte, you will have to re-jet 1-3 jet sizes, depending on what filter you use also. Like K&N.
