I just bought a new 2002 Warrior and i have read that you can flip the rear tires around to give the bike more stability in the rear.. I was wondering if over time this damages the bike any way.

 

I think the warrior rears are not off-set. I dont know though. The warrior has such a heavy center of gravity you would not need to do it.

 

I have a 1990 (dont know if they changed wheels since)and flipped them a long time ago with no problems. I dont MX race (obviously - warrior)but ride pretty hard. You can also flip the fronts if ya put washers over the studs to space out the wheel from the hub. This keeps the valve stem from hitting the brake caliper. Try it for a ride and then you can decide if ya want to get offset front wheels. It makes a substantial difference in stability - wider is better unless the trails are real tight.

 

Thanks guys... Another question... Which mod should i do first?? I was thinking about getting the pro flow clamp on filter and do the exhaust.. Which one should i do first( i realize i have to rejet regardless of which one i do)

 

i did this on my '01 and it added about 3 inches in the back. i havn't noted any ill effects in doing this. the first thing i would do is get differnt rear tires. then some sort of pro-flow air fliter set up.

 

Let er breathe ! I dont know what the optimum combo is but in my case I put a White Bros slip-on and K&N air filter. Pepped it up nicely. I did not mod the airbox and have not had to re-jet but I'm at a higher altitude - 4000ft.

 

Ooopps - Almost forgot about the most significant performance mod that I have made on the trusty ole warrior. WORKS front shocks - I put on the front steelers with resiviors. To be honest, these will allow you to go faster that the pipe/filter mod. due to the handeling improvement. They cost $350-$450 but it's well worth it. The non-res types (cheaper) would likely do nicely.
