On Christmas day I had my 400ex out and was riding it a bit. I put it away that night and when I went to start it the next morning I noticed the ignition sounded a little weak. It eventually turned over but over for a second. After that it would not turn over until i let it sit for a while. After trying to start it for a while the ignition would sound really weak. I know i didn't leave the key in over night but the battery could stil be dead i suppose. i havent cleaned the air filter and retried it or checked the spark plug but i just wanted to know what it could possibly be. So why haven't you tried your own idea yet? It sounds like you have a good idea what it may be already.
