A friend of mine has a 2000 Yamaha Big Bear. With under 100 miles on it, he rolled it several times over a mountain. It rolled over 200 feet. He's fine after recovering from some bruised ribs and other aches and pains. The dealer has replaced all of the plastic, both racks, 2 of the 4 wheels and much of the suspension. The dealer has had it for 2 months and claims to be waiting for a back-ordered ball joint. Is this normal? Has anyone else had problems getting parts for the new Yamahas? Finally, a word of advice....buy the insurance.

 

I have ordered several accessories. Most have been in stock at my Yamaha dealer or have arrived within a few days. I have however ordered camoflauge fender covers and headlight brush guards for both of my bikes and i have been waiting on them for 2 weeks and the dealer does not expect the brush guards to arrive until mid March.

 

I am not sure of the dates...But my dealer...who I tend to work pretty close with, called me and said that I should expect delays from Yamaha...if I need parts.
It seems that Yamaha closes down the factory for a few weeks around this time...Probably to take care of inventory and such.
Everything should be up and running soon.

 

My dealer mentioned that Yamaha is moving to a new computer system, and delays can be expected. That was about 2 weeks ago, so it seems like the new system should be in place by now.
