2001 Rubicon Power Kit
#1
I own a 2001 Rubicon, and I am wanting to put in a Power Kit but first I have a few questions for anyone with it already installed.
1)Did it make a difference in Top End(I can hit 57mph stock)
2)Was the jetting on it hard?
3)Can you pull a wheelie on it easier than the stock?
Also I am looking to get a 2x4 selecter, do you have any info on it.

I had installed a dynojet kit on the rubicon, less the K&N air filter.
I had found the part # on K&N's web site but the owner swears they don't make one yet.
But any way, the jet kit was easy and straight forward, it gave it a good bit more accelleration, but I can't remember what the top end speed was.
I am going to comment on the FMF pipe we put on it. In the first 50 feet it blew the exhaust tip off, we contacted FMF and they thought it may be a deffect so they replaced it. Well the second one did the same thing?
I believe I figured the problem out, I believe we were running lean at the bottom end, so if I had the chance I believe I would Have bumped the pilot up.
But the owner is megga rich, went hunting and haven't hierd from him sense.
The jet kits come a little rich, and by the way they have excellent instructions.
If I was a rubicon owner I would forget the after market pipe and install the jet kit with a after market air filter.
I can't tell you the power increase sense I don't own one, but the feller I did do one for Put 27" tires on his and says it pulls them fine!!!

The power kit is just the filter and jets. With this kit you will see a little performance increase but not much. In order for it to work you really need an aftermarket exhaust. Basically what you are doing with these kits is opening up the engine so that you can put more fuel into it. Most of these kits will NOT give you more top end. Most are made for mudding and give low end power. Yes they will help you wheelie better, but remember this is a utility quad. Acutally installing the jets is a breeze, tuning them can take a long time. I have rejeted my rubicon a ton of times.
I have riden a 450 with the High Lifter UnLocker and love it. Very strange feeling riding a Honda utility in 2wd.

Thanx for all the help, since you have been on 2x4 honda how did you select which drive mode you wanted? All I ride on here is sand, and thats what all of my jumps and things are made of, we have a bowl with a track around it so will the low end power help me in sand?

I have seen two versions of the actual selector and I'm not sure which one they will go with. One was a handle on the rack and the other was down on the left foot side.
I have no clue about sand as we dont have any around here.
