I was just wondering what symptoms a wheeler exhibits when the tie- rod ends are shot?
I ride a 1993 350L 4x4, and I notice that when I get around 40 or 45 mph the front end starts to shimmey and the handlebars kind of occillate from side to side. It feels very uncomfortable, like I am about to loose control of the thing. I've got 1500 miles on it now with what I imagine are the factory tie-rod ends.
I have read many posts on this forum about the poor quality tie-rod ends Polaris used on the older quads. Does this sound like it could be the result of trashed tie-rod ends?
I've also recently noticed that both front discs are slightly warped and the pads rub the discs at one spot every revolution. If the rub spots are out of sync with each other would'nt this also cause the handlebar occillation?? It would be like braking each wheel individually just for an instant with each revolution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Farmr123, do you think your industrial strength tie-rod end fix would work on an older machine like mine??

neal doun in front of your polaris and grab both front wheels and wiggle them if they move in different directions then the tie rods are bad. or with one hand grab the tie rod and with the other hand wiggle the tire if you can feel any sloppy movement get some new tie rods. my polaris was w0rn out at both ends of the steering rods not just the tie rod ends.
