Hello i'm new to the site and i was told to come here and ask my question about what type for carburetors should i use with my engine mods . Heres my list of mods for my banshee A&S full engine mods with full drag porting and polished , V-force 2's reed mods , Chrome CPI inframe pipes and silencers and Coolhead with 19cc domes. I do alot of dune riding also . Any information would be helpful

well always remember the bigger you go, the more top end. but ask a company what they think. preferably a company that sells all sorts of carbs so they wont try to sell you there only model.

To LT 80:
I run 44/38 Lectron's on my two 250x/350x conversions. Did you see the article in the Jan. 2002 issue of 4 Wheel Action where they had a carb shoot out between stock Keihin, 39 mm Keihin, 41 mm Keihin, 36 mm Edelbrock, 440 Edelbrock (sort of like the taperjet Lectron but only flared to 44 mm on the intake, not the outlet and the intake), and the 38mm Lectron taper jet. test was done on a 400 ex with a 440 kit.

The test results were basically: peak horsepower was highest with the Lectron, but only by 1/10 hp over the next closest (Keihin 41 I beleive), and 2/10's over the Edelbrock 440. On the bottom end the Lectron was giving up about 4 - 8 horsepower between 3000 and 6500 rpm, then passed the others , and continued to make 8- 10 more hp, from 7000 to 9000 rpm.

I recently installed a 44/38mm Taperjet on my 425 cc 350x, and removed a Keihin 38 mm race carb. The results seemed positive, but without a dyno who knows? Do you know any tricks to improve this low end response on the Lectron? They did not specify which needle they were using in the Lectron test either, short, long or extra long.

For a banshee I would suggest stock carbs bored for running gas with the mods you have. Use 34's or bore them to 35's for alcohol. My guess is this is what A&S would also suggest based on a recent visit to their shop.

Hey! With your mod's I would go with 35 PWK airstyker's for gas, they are very duneable and pull VERY stong on topend power! FEENZ

if i was you i wouldn't over carb it unless all you do is drag.a tapper bored 28 to 30 would be nice or 34mmpjs are great carbs.i run the 35mm and i think that there good for larger bore engines but hiner smaller engines.just my opinion-
