Is there any weight advantage to aluminum wheels? When one hears the word aluminum you think light weight but if one goes with the .190 thickness to get strength, are they really lighter than steel?

I am told the Douglas front wheels in the 12x6 size have a shipping weight of 8 pounds each and the 10x8 size weight 6 pounds each. Can find no information on actual weight.

ITP Magnums (aluminum 12x7s) are 7 lbs each.
ITP C-Series (aluminum 12x7s) are 9 lbs each.
ITP Steels (12x7) are 13 lbs each.
ITP Wide Offset Steels (12x8.5) are 14 lbs each.

You stock Honda steel wheels are around 8-9 lbs each.
