Anyone know if both axles follow the exact same procedure?

I have the manual for the 2001 Raptor but recently had the 2002 axle and axle nuts installed by the dealer to fix the same problem I still have. Once again, the rotor and sprocket have forward to backward play after riding the quad around the yard for 5 minutes. I have a set of Motion Pro 50mm axle wrenches coming in tomorrow so I can set the torque values according to Yamaha. Also, I don't know the torque values for the set screws on the axle nut.

Honestly, I think the splines on the rotor and sprocket collars are worn. I was thinking about disassembling the rear axle assembly and using JB weld on the collar splines before putting back together. Kind of a last ditch effort before replacing. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

NotuRaptor

<< set of Motion Pro 50mm axle wrenches >>

= Set of pipe wrenches. Probably would have been much easier with the proper equipment though.

The motion pro wrenches work really well.....Here's a tip that might save you a "first time with the new wrench" moment. One of the wrenches is more captive (less like an open-end)than the other. If you use the more captive wrench on the inside it can get "trapped" by the outer nut being torqued differently than the inner - the flat spots on the nuts don't line up and allow you to remove the inner wrench. Use the less captive wrench on the inside. It may save you having to re-do it to get the wrench off....

Seems obvious after the fact but.......
