Advance the timing and lighten the flywheel - will this change anything?
#1
Can someone explain to me what advancing the timing and lightening the flywheel will do to a quad, specifically a 01 raptor with a race cam and 11:1 hi-comp piston? Anything?? It was recommended by the race shop so I had it done with my engine modifications, but my knowledge is fairly limited after the cam and piston. Thanks.

advancing the timming will increase mid and top end performace. lightnig the flywheel will give quicker throtle response . I would not recomend doing this on the raptor due to it having a rather light flywheel to begin with.it will also tend to be more finiky and stall more at low rpm starts . I think there is far more performance things you can do to the raptor to get the power you are looking for . it exspensive but I,ve been reading that the fcr carbs on the raptor make nice inprovements. like $750 bucks ? good luck ,and hope I helped
