Ive tried from 165-185 without a lot of change. I want the bike to run as cool as possible and not lean but I was just curious as to what others are running. Im in N.C. average temps between 50-80 and 2-300 feet above sea level, no air box. I have 426,13-1 JE,ported/ polished head, sparks x6,350 lift cam. I am currentlly running a 175 main, needle clip 3rd.
Thanks

Try the EX riders site. They will be able to help you out, I imagine.

NO problem, just concerned about being lean and not knowing it. These motors make so much heat and when you can change jetting from 165 that comes in it to 185 and hardly tell a difference, thats scary! It needs all the fuel it can too cool it but optimum performance and cooling is what I am concerned with. Im just curious as to what others are running.
some of my friends with the same high compression engines are running as low as 160 but I am scared to lean it at that size main. when I tried the 165 I didnt see or feel any change so I figure fatter is better. I dont know?

Have you done a plug read?

I currently run a 168main 52pilot and 3rd clip pos @ about 1000' - if I go any more rich on the main I get a pretty bad stumble under load in the lower RPMs. But my engine is built with a mild cam for cross country racing - I'm running just under 11:1 and a Sparks X4 pipe.

Depending on how wild your cam is, running a 180 and above is not unheard of.

How free flowing is your airbox setup? We've experienced this "untunability" with 400's with restrictive intake and/or exhaust setups - sounds like your exhaust is fine.
