I don't know what happened, but this is the second time that I have tried to post this new topic. Anyway's I have been watching Vegas' videos and I am curious as to what adjustments does he need to make to his shocks for that situation? I am a nivice to the race quad worls and I raelly don't understand how the adjustemnts to the shocks work. I mean how do they effect the ride control of the quad. Including the adjustment of the spring. I know if you tighten them it makes the machines ride more harsh but can handle bigger blows. If anyone on here would please take the time to fill me in on all of this, I would most appreciate it.

I believe that Vegas650 needs to adjust his rebound. In other words, hes hitting the tops of the whoops, but his rear shock is not rebounding fast enough to get into the ground between the peaks. You can see him bouncing around the tops and not able to power through... Once he gets his suspensiOn sorted out, the 703 is going to get up the hill quite a bit faster, without all the drama of bouncing around the whoops!

Unless you jump like I do my opinion on setup wont help you. but find a little jump off some kind on jump off of it landing on flat ground, if you are bottoming out then you need to adjust things stiffer if not well loosen the spring a little, its hard to tell you how to adjust your dampening, thats the adjustment on the top end of the shock, it will control the rate in which the shock is compressed, and rebound is the opposite, it controls the rate of the shock as it goes back up and is located at the bottom of the shock, so if it tries to bounce you over the bars you need to adjust it. its a trial and error thing to you get what you want, but make small adjustments and write down what you did so you know where you started in case you need to start over.

BillDS650, Thats the best explanation of shock adjustment I've seen yet. Good job digging it up and posting it for everybody.

Bill, thanks. I've already started working on my set up. After I go to Dumont again, I will post my results.

That link was exactly what I was looking for. It was very informative. I am not sure if I want to adjust anything on mine but I am going to amyway, just to learn so I know when I need to do the adjustments on site. I will make some notes and keep them on the quad at all times for fast reminder. Again thanks everybody for your help. And Vegas, sorry I had to use the Pig for the example. Still looking forward to seeing that thing hopefully when I come down!!!
