I read everyone'e responses on how one shouldn't convert a 3 wheeler to a 4 wheeler......and I do agree. Despite that information, can anyone tell me if they know of conversion kits which convert 3 wheelers to 2 wheelers? Does anyone remember the old Honda Fat Cats? Converted 3 wheelers which are made into motorcycles, but still utilize the ATV style wheels are incredible all around vehicles. They have a lower center of gravity than a standard motocross bike and have incredible stability with the different wider/smaller tires. I had heard that there used to be a conversion kit. Does anyone know if that is true? And if so, is it still available? Please pass along any web sites if you know these answers. Thank you.

This is birdhunter again, and I forgot to mention some specific details. The type of trike that I am looking to convert into a Fat Cat is a 350X (1985). If you have specific information on that particular model that will help a lot.

Unless that you want to buy a Fat Cat swingarm then I guess if you have a welder then you can make your own. I have not had any luck with this either so I am trying to make my own for my Honda 350x.

In the November 99 issue of Sand Sports is an article about N.W. innovations ATC 250R conversion to a fat tire two wheeler. This kit comes with, swingarm, countershaft and sprocket (two stage chain drive), chain, rear axle, aluminum rear hub, brake caliper bracket, douglas wheel and skat-trak 14 paddle hauler. misc bearings and hardware $1565. They put a CR500 in and pumped it to 610cc! NWInnovation@earthlink.net or fax (503) 259-9395 I know you said 350x, but this might be a lead.
I have some seat time on a friends yamaha bigwheel 200cc and I think it's the funnest bike I have ever ridden. I'd love to try a fatcat 350. My opinion and from seeing the parts list of this conversion, I would have to say you should sell your 350x and put that money toward a search for 350 fatcat. This can easily be explained in the simple formula of time+money/engineering+hassles+hair pulling+ parts locating+labor +tools +ridicule=one off overpriced rolling disaster. Factor in your own mechanical abilities
