How much ground clearance can i expect to have after adding 26" Dirt Devil XT's and a High Lifter lift kit to my 2001 AC 500? Thanks

Highlifter says an average of 3.5 to 4.0 inches.

You can expect 0 (that's right ZERO) ground clearnace from the tires alone. The 26" Dirt Devils measure 25 inches (they run small). All of your ground clearance will come from the lift kit. The problem is this though. If you have the ACT suspension there is NO way to increase the ground clearnce on the rear differential through a lift kit. You have to go up in tire size to get more clearance in the rear. The highlifter kit will only increase your bikes stance, center of gravity and front clearnace.

My suggestion? By the 28" Dirt Devils and forget about the lift kit. IMHO.

Good luck!

I got about 2.5-3" with the lift and 27" Claws on my 99 500. The rear diff raised about a good inch or so with the tires, and the lift jacked up the front and the center pretty good. The lift makes a noticeable difference.

Andy, did you lose much power with the 27 inch tires on your cat?

My 27x10x12 Gators measure about 26.5x9.5 with 5lbs of air in them. This is about 2" taller than stock, resulting in 1" gain in gc at the rear end. If you go with 26" DDs your gain will be about 1/2" at the rear end. If you have a 500 I would recomend the 27" rather than the 26" if you are looking to increase ground clearence. The gain in traction will be amazing over the stock tires. The DDs are a light tire so there will be very litle power loss.

Another question, will the lift and bigger tires make my quad more tipsy on side-hills and will it effect hill climbing? Thanks!
