Ron Wood Racing has the CDI box you need to fix your problem. Its VERY easy to change, 2 screws I believe and 1 plug. Its about a 10-20 min. job.

Been there, done that. A new Team Pami CDI from Knutz will fix you up. It removes the rev limiter, which is no big deal, you won't hurt your motor without it unless you really try. Any exhaust other than the stock adds low and mid range. The CDI gives you more rpm on top. It's a win-win thing.

Dude, you got two problems - no traction and a need for a rev box. Go to the ALBA rev limiter topic on this forum, and go to the Best tires topic on this forum too - they have your answers.

I had the same issue once I put on my big gun complete and K&N jet kit. I put on a 37 tooth rear & 21" tire. Looking back I should have installed a 17 or 18 tooth front. I now have a woods rev box, don't know if it made a difference yet (haven't raced anyone). But I do know I like that I don't hear and feel that limiter any more. Well worth the money.

I put on a 17 tooth sprocket at first too. Then after I got the Ohtsu tires and took care of the worthless traction issue I had to go back to stock gearing.

NewDSlover - how's the CDI box. Supposedly the advanced timing thruoghout the rev range offered by the box causes an increase in HP, and the peak rpm HP goes from 6500 to over 7000 - can you feel it?

Just wondering why you think you should change your front sprocket instead of your rear. If you would have changed the front instead would you be increasing or decreasing your top end? I guess my question on the 37 sprocket is what's wrong with it? Did you lose a lot of bottom end? Just wondering since I just ordered a 37 sprocket.

if you check out the gearing calculators on my or marky's site, you'll notice the 17 countersprocket is only slightly lower overall gearing than adding a 37 rear. but much easier to replace.

Adding teeth in front, or losing teeth in the rear is the same effect - more top end, less bottom.
