Why are you wanting to do this? Why not just trade up for S??
I suppose you could build your own shifter and attach it the shaft sticking out the side of the block that is used for emergency use if the battery goes dead. The "S" model shifter will not bolt to that shaft.
I have sold guys the floorboardsand brackets for the "S" models and they work fine with the foot shifter, but they had to raise the shifter slightly and trim a bit off the floorboard.
As far as hurting anything, I have no clue. Just keep in mind that if the process were that simple and was that reliable, that Honda would have both the standard shift and electric shift for the same models rather than sell them as two different units.

i want it because i like it sometimes just to do something diffrent. also while carrying something i can take one hand off the bars. and it gives my feet something to do. but i love the ES. i would not trade it for a S. but being able to do both would be nice.

OK. Be sure to let us know how it works if you decide to do it.
I haven't had anyone ask about doing it yet, but just in case, I will at least know if an attempt to do so was successful. No one knows until someone tries it right?
Good luck.
