Can someone give me advice on how to get my quad into neutral? It seems to not want to go into it easy. It is very hard. My sister spent $1400 and had work put into it. Runs great but when idling it wants to stop/quit. Is there something we can do to make it work or run better?

It sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging completely. Are you sure it is adjusted correctly?

Do you mean you can't get the bike in nuetral gear, or the bike just won't idle?

If you merely are unable to get the bike into neutral, then try what I do.

Put the bike in first gear:

While at a stand-still with the clutch in, put the bike in first gear by rocking the bike back and forth, while repeatedly pushing down on the gear selector until it won't "click" anymore. Now you KNOW you're in first.

Now, put the bike in neutral:

Rock the bike back and forth while GENTLY pulling up on the gear selector. That half click that gets you into neutral is barely different than that full click that gets you into second. Slowly release the clutch to make sure you're in neutral.

If you're not in neutral, put it back in first and try again. It took my a while on my LT500 to find neutral. If I pull up on the selector from first on my LT without rocking her back and forth, I almost NEVER find neutral. It's a pain in the a$$, but it works. Other bikes I've ridden seemed much easier to find neutral.

If the bike won't idle, it could be a multitude of things:

-Idle set too low
-Air screw maladjusted
-Clutch not disengaging (this is only applicable, of course, if the bike dies while idling in gear with the clutch in, but doesn't die while idling in neutral)
-etc, etc, etc.

Hope this helps, at least a bit.

From what it sounds like, My clutch needs adjustment. That is why it is hard to get into neutral when running, and some time quits all of a sudden. Which way should I adjust the clutch and how should I go about it?
