Hey all you DS riders. I just got back from Sand Lake, riding with Markynark and Sand45. Mark's DS is freak'n fast!!! Best looking Bombardier I've ever seen too. Saw him drag race up a hill against raptor's and a modified banshees, and he was at least 4-5 bike lengths ahead of them at the top. AND....he was coasting as he got to the top (still breaking in his new motor). I was very impressed. Sand45 was beating piped banshees up the hill, and he still had his stock tires on his BAJA. I'm a Honda guy, but today I was really impressed with that 650 motor.

Those Roll Design footpegs are sweet!! I sat on Marky's DS, and those pegs are HUGE. They felt like they'd be a very stable platform, and you wouldn't need to worry about taking those mud-guards off. I'm going to try and make some for my 400ex. We'll see how well that works out.... Just gotta buy a case of beer for the machine shop manager at work.

Oh...and yes, I do want to come and watch after you've put the NOS on your DS. Hopefully you won't have a meltdown. Better bring the 400ex as a back-up that weekend.

I have the Roll Design pegs too, and I kept my heelguards because there's too much open space without them for me to be comfortable jumping. You could lose a leg in a heartbeat in some freak accident off a jump, and although it never bothered me before on any other bike I've had, the DS just has a lot more vulnerability and intimidation for me.

If anyone wants to know how or what I did let me know, I'll explain.

I do rather like the look of no heelguards though....
