First ride with Bi/Tri Claws
#1
"NARLY MAN NARLY" as 3 of my friends would say. These tires are almost tooo good. Playing in anywhere from 2-4 feet of powder snow with only a soft base that we could chew thru and get very high centred.
There were 8 quads and 1 snowmobile. The snowmobile had to pull EVERYONE at one time or another. My main problem, (don't get me wrong I love these tires) was that they would chew thru anything I came to. Just going up the road in 5 inches of soft snow I would chew and dig it even deeper. Always spinning in order to keep moving forward. Everyone was doing this but I was digging ever deeper and deeper.
When falling of the skidoo trail and ending up in the DEEP snow I still managed to "claw" my way back onto the trail (in most cases). This was quite impressive as with the auto I just had to ease the throttle more and more until I was back onto the trail. Although I had to be careful not to "launch" myself over to the other side and back into the deep snow.
Overall I am very impressed with these tires in the snow.
My front left fender seems to be hitting the tire when I go down into a small dip in the trail. It does it quite a lot and even on some of the small dips if I'm going a little faster. Will the washer lift job fix this problem? I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this, but, if it will help then I will consider it a necessity and get the job done soon.
CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MUD (another 2 months the way the weather is here. snowed again Sunday) I will give another report then.

Hi shmoky,
Glad you're enjoying your claws in the snow. I have the same setup but haven't been playing in the snow much...not much snow at my end of the country
About them hitting your fender, the washer/spacers will help lots. I added 1/4" spacers up front and 1/2" in the rear. What your tires are hitting is that "lip" that's on the inside of the fender. I grinded mine off with a Dremel tool.
It's snowing here today, I hope to ride this Friday if it doesn't turn to rain!
