Hey all,
I am a proud owner of a grizzly and have noticed how they are compared to the prarie and the new sportsman. everyone seems to think theres are better, and no other can compete. is there anyone who owns a prarie that just thinks this is great that we have such good bikes to choose from? i love the new prarie, as well as the grizzly and the sportsman. the only thing i am hoping for is that i can get in touch with one of each to ride with here in michigan. any takers?? i am truly happy when i see a post saying how each others bike is better, couse that just tells me that we are all happy!!! I love my new grizzly, now if i can trade with someone who owns a prarie out on the trails for an hour or 2, we can compare and have a ball!!!

I'm in Michigan near Grand Rapids but you are a good 3 hours from here I have one friend with a Griz 660, one with a Sportsman 700 and one with a Vinson. We usually ride in Montcalm and Newyago Counties.

This is my opinion on the list:

1. Kawi 650
2. Griz 660 - Close second
3. Vinson
4. Rubicon
5. Sportsman 700 - Shamefully last

I ride with Honda guys, and they are the WORSTwhen it comes to &quot;my machine is better than yours&quot;. They were all sticking me pretty hard when I bought my Kawie, but now that a few of them have rode it, they don't brag about their Hondas as much! One of the other guys in our club has a Polaris 700, and it is a pretty good machine, but he has had a lot of trouble with it. I've said it a hundred times and I'll say it again, <u>RIDE WHAT YOU WANT.[/u I don't care what it is, as long as you are having fun. Isn't that why we bought em in the first place?

Actually the Vinson does fairly well, the other 3 are in their own class but it's still a 500cc machine. Another friend has a Suzuki Quadrunner 250 2WD now that thing has a major lack of power

I've been on a 650 ( which I own ), 660 and 700. I'm going to list them the way I see them after the ride.

660
700
650

fast riding ( more stable )
650
660
700

power
650
660
700

mudding ( better ground clearance, stock )
660
700
650

hill climbing ( gobbs of low end )
650
660
700

utility ( all tied )
650,660,700

overall
660,650
700

looks
660

Just the way I see it after riding them all, no bashing of any machine.

trailhog----&quot;Great Minds Think Alike&quot;! I totally agree with ALL your observations. I was fortunate enough to be able to do &quot;real-world&quot; test rides on both the Grizz ,and the P-650, before purchasing a P-650. They are BOTH incredible machines. I chose the P-650 as it fit my riding style, that's all.

Trailhog is pretty much on the ball with his list. You mentioned three ATV's which truly are the &quot;Best of Class&quot;! They all have their particular strengths and weakenesses. One has to chose which one is best for their type of riding.

I eliminated the Yamaha because of lack of availability. And the only dealer with any in stock would not come down in price. I was able to acquire a SP700 for $6,300 or a Prairie 650 for $6,100 both stock out-the-door. So value for price was a huge factor for me. The Yamaha is a great bike and you guys might be sick of hearing this, but the 660 is a good mix between the 650 and 700. The SP700 is the best mud ATV but if you look in the Polaris forums like I do you will notice a lot of first run problems. Many 700 owners are opting out for already for 500 HO's which are definetly proven. And of course the 650 is a little more sporty riding and is fast.

I obviously chose the Prairie for the price compared to what I was getting for the money. The Yamaha would have cost me nearly 7K out-the-door. Although its a great ATV, the Grizzly nor any one of the three is $800 dollars better than any of the others unless one is really a stickler for brand name. Just my unbiased opinion!

One other point;

I am happy with my 650 and if I were to do it all over again I would chose the 650 over the other two. Although, I really believe the SP700 in silver and black is a better looking ATV than my 650. It would sure match my black Expedition nicely. And even better than that is the looks of the Yamaha Grizzly. Now that is truly the best and meanest looking machine out today in my humble opinion.

thanks for the replys guys!!!
i am happy to see such honesty in the group. i did my own list on the 3 bikes, but i can only go from riding with them, and not soo much from riding them, so it isn't as sound from all yours. i have said in the past, that if only we could take the praries engine, the grizzlys suspencion, and the polaris's stock tires and put them together, we might just come up with the perfect quad!!! lol. I, for one, am just happy to own one of them, and good riding!!! by the way, thanks for not telling my my grizzly is a bottom feeder and should be put out to pasture, lmao!!!
