I wish these manufacturers would get something closer along the lines of a 300-350ex
that has an automatic 5 -speed with reverse, 2WD sport quad. That 250 is cute but probably lags power. I used to have a 300ex but the wife doesn't like the clutch. I got her a Polaris Trailboss 325 automatic. Polaris is half utility/have sport and also heavy. Overall it's allright but not sporty enough like the Honda.

I don't know much about them, but Kawasaki makes the Lakota 300 sport. (no racks). It has an auto clutch, and seems a bit bigger than the 300ex. They did a test with it and the 250ex, and said that the Kawi had more power. You might want to look into that one. I've seen quite a few of them on the trails. Never ridden one though. Of course I'm a honda fan, so I'd just get the 250ex, and put a pipe on it. That should help it out some.

Check out the new Suzuki Ozark 250. It has racks but has the sportiest feel over the Recon,250EX and even the Lakota300.

I don't know about the Lakota, but this thing will leave a Recon and 250EX in the dust.

It is also very light and handles great.

Hello there,
The Ozark 250 is similiar to the quad my wife has now:
A 2001 Polaris Trailboss 325. The 250ex with the pipe and jet kit will have to do. I saw the Lakota shootout too. It's either Yamaha or Honda for me.
Thanks Guys.

If you want a Sport AUTOMATIC you are pretty limited.

I think you just bought the wrong POLARIS.

I am not sure but I think a 250 TRAILBLAZER has more power than the 325 Trailboss.
Look at the Scrambler Line up, A LOT MORE power and better suspension vs the Trailboss or Trailblazer.
(NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE)
If you get a 400 2 stroke, they make tons of Mods for when you get comfortable with what you have.
The 500 is also very nice, but that 2 stroke power is hard to pass up and is a bit cheeper.
