mine is very loud atv is 2 weeks old with 45 miles on it..thanks

 

Initially mine sounded loud too kind of like a whirring noise. It's not so loud now at a bit over 100 miles and all the research i did on it came back that it was normal and nothing to worry about. How do you like the Bear I love mine.

 

hi redbear ..i like mine very much had it out in the woods and really like how it handles around tight spots i would buy another..just the noise in the front of mine drives me crazy i had the atv on asphalt with it in 4wd and you connot hear nothing but the front gears noise i had it on a down hill slope cut the engine off left it in 4wd and let it coast and it is so loud...like a ratechting sound..other than that i like everything else....where in mass are you i have some kin in springfield was there a few years ago..?

 

Never tried shutting down going down a hill but yes it whines and makes noise. You'll get used to it just like the lifter noise but that is almost a trademark sound for the bigbear and they are very easy to adjust.

I have a new Big Bear with about 100 km on it and know exactly what you are talking about. The whining that comes from the front end is very loud and I was a little concerned, but after reading this thread, it seems that this is a characteristic of these machines and isn't anything out of the ordinary.

i took it to the dealer today and they rode it some and theythey never run into one as bad sounding as mine and they have a yamaha rep coming in thursday and they were going to let him check this thing out will post what they find keep it between the ditches...lol....
