I have a 2001 blaster that idles fine, but starts to die when accelerating. If I continue to give it gas, it will backfire. First gear starts to do it about 3/4 throttle. Second starts to do it about 1/4 throttle. I've replaced the plug & cleaned the air filter. I'm currently in the middle of emptying the gas tank. Any recommendations?

I do not have any mods. It is completing stock. The jetting is also set to stock. I have not verified the jets yet. The plug was fouled when I replaced it.

I'll start it with the choke on, but then I'll turn if off after a minute or so. I let it idle for 10 minutes & it still lost power.

check the seal between the pipe and the silencer if it is leaking that could be your problem try taking off your silencer andrun it for a little bit if it runs much better go buy a dg type 1 silencer it will have less backpressure sound better run better and you will not have to rejet ckeck how much slack is in your throttle cable your torrs systme could be kicking in

The blaster has an oil injection saftey. If the is not getting oil or thinks it isn't all the engine wil do is idle. Whe you gas it it will bog down.check and see if it is getting oil or not. If it is then cut the oil injection safety cable and cover it in electrical tape. I had this problem

Thanks for all the help. After flushing the fuel lines & cleaning the carb really good, it seems to be working fine now.
