I host my website on my own server, in my livingroom. I have full cotrol over all 6 websites that I run off it. I never exceed my allocated bandwidth or allocated data transfer

On the downside,
-I don't have as much bandwidth as I would like.
-I am too cheap to register a domain, so my website has a dumb url: atv.dnsalias.com
Dnsalias is a free dns host service, not a very catchy name.
-I am the only web developer for my website, and I am not as good as some, and it shows.

I just wrote a classified ads application for my website. I wonder if it will get used much.
