perry a,
Well there probably is a reason for the machine being slower every year. After 11 years it probably needs a top end rebuild. This will happen on even well maintained machines. This involves removing the head, cylinder, piston and rings. Depending on the condition of the cylinder bore it will either need to be honed (if it's smooth) or bored (if it's rough). If it needs bored, you can look forward to getting it a new piston too. After 11 years it probably wouldn't hurt to get it bored .020" over and have a new .020" piston installed. There is no need to go the Wiseco forged piston route if you aren't going to get into heavy modifications on the engine, the standard cast piston will do.
Hope this helps!
