has anyone seen the quicksilver carbs offered for the XR's and other dual sport machines?? has anyone used the xr400 carb on the 400ex?? if you have or know someone that does please let me know how it works and if it goes on without any adjustments. I'm about to fork over over $700 for mods including a FMF pc4 muffler, edelbrock carb, uni air filter, and DG lid. any info. will be appreciated. thanks

I have ridden a few 400ex's with the Edelbrock carb. The only thing I have to say is hold on tight. The carb makes all the difference in the world. It adds more power throughout the powerband and it really pulls hard on top. I have ridden a stock 400 with a pipe, a 400 with a cam and ported head and a 440 with everything done to it. The Edelbrock helped on every one. The 440 with the Edelbrock really hauled. It has tons of top end, it will runs with everything now. The extra bonus is that its not peaky power like a 2 stroke. It just keeps pulling. If you were to buy the carb I would suggest that you get a pipe, rev box and filter kit to unleash all the performance possible. I'm not sure when Edelbrock is going to come out with the 400EX kit but it will be worth the wait.
