I was wondering for trails and overall more power, what would be the best pipe for the honda fourtrax 300ex ??? The dmc dual barrel with header wich i really really like (same as duncan dual barrel) , the white brothers e series pipe wich i like, or a supertrapp that i like. PLEASE HELP ME DESPERATE FOR A KNOWLEDGEABLE ANSWER. IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ALL OF THESE PIPES PLEASE REPLY WITH A GOOD ANSWER THANKS A WHOLE LOT.... BRANDON

if i were you i would go with the white bros e-series over the dmc dual barrel with headers. from what i've seen and heard, the white bros makes just as much power as the dmc and it costs much less (for just the silencer). i think that you can also get a header pipe with the white bros which will further increase performance. i feel that the dual barrel exhaust is just a waste of money, but i could be wrong. i recall reading one post on the dual barrel exhaust and it stated that the purpose of an exhuast system is to get the exhuast away from the engine as quickly as possible. since the dmc has dual pipes, it cools the exhuast more than a single pipe could, but cool air travels slower than hot air, so it doesn't really seem to help having 2 pipes over 1 large one. you may also want to consider the big gun exhuast. i had their silencer on a warrior i used to own and it really improved acceleration and torque plus it looked really nice. any other thoughts anyone?

the dmc dual barrel isnt two pipes. It is on pipe that has two holes in the silencer instead of one. I heard that it produses exelent power and is a really nice pipe. And the money thing isnt that big of a deal to me because i have been saving plenty. If you find out anything about the power produced by all three pipes please let me know. This is for a trx300ex

Hey exrider I can't speak of the other pipes but I have a supertrapp and I am thrilled with it.You will see a huge improvement in power if you also improve air flow into the engine with this pipe.It also(and maybe the others) has a U.S. forestry approved spark arrestor which is nice if you ride on state land where they usually require on.The arrestor of course only works with the discs in the pipe, which also cuts back on the noise.I would say they are all good pipes and price would be a big factor if I was buying another one because I think the supertapp is close to 300 now through Dennis Kirk.GOOD LUCK with your decision.

If you say that money is no obect, get the supertrapp exhaust. It was the best exhaust tested on a 300 EX about 4 years ago (saw ithe article in Dirt Wheels). But you also need to consider where you ride. If noise will be a problem, then do what I did. I got an oversized headpipe ( 1 5/8 vs. 1 3/8 stock) from the guys at Poweroll in Oregon. I was a security guard at a campground for about two years and used my 300 EX for transportation so keeping it quiet was very important. The fit is real good and the stock muffler is retained. The power increase was very noticable as I can now tap the rev-limiter in all gears instaed of first only when it was stock.

OK, I am no 4 Stroke expert but I do know some things about pipes and other mods for them so here goes. The object of a pipe and silencer it to relieve the pressure of the exiting gases. Basically, that means that the freer flowing the pipe is the more power you will gain. The idea is to get the exhause gases out and away as soon as possible. The after market pipes are larger to relieve the back pressure and therefore create more horses. That is why the 400ex has the dual exhaust. What you need to do is check out back issues of magazines and see what pipes they use and which ones work the best. If you can get a look at the Dyno charts for some pipes then you can really tell what each pipe does and where. You don't want to necessarily buy the pipe that gives the greatest peak horsepower because it could make all that power very high in the RPM range. If you want low end power look at the dyno printouts and see which one peaks farthest to the left on the sheet(lowest RPM). That kind of tells you which pipe will have the best low end. Go to the GT Thunder Website(type in GT Thunder in a search engine). They have tons of dyno runs posted on there so you can see what I mean. If you have any other questions, I will be happy to help. I will also check all my mags to see if there is any info that I can pass along to you.

Here is the web address. There isn't much for the 300ex but I bet if you call them they will gladly help you out. I don't think that they make pipes so they won't try to sell you something that isn't good for you application. If this address doesn't work go to Alta Vista and type in "GT Thunder"
