Ive been looking at new 4x4's for about two months. Ive just recently decided on the Rancher, but the best price I could get was list + $49, or $5248. Then a buddy stops by after a recent hunting trip, and tells me he bought a new 450s. Seems his generator s**t the bed, so he gos to the local Honda dealer to buy a new one, and ends up with a new 4x4 quad. I ask how much he payed, he says $5800 out the door. Sounded like a good price, so I asked what he(the dealer) wanted for a rancher,he didn't know so he called. $4800 for an ES not an S, which is what I had been priceing. That price is out the door, there is no sales tax here. Guess where I'm going next week end?! By the way this dealer is in another state, and 250 mi from my house. Does anyone know if I have to bring it back to him for the 10hr check up or can I bring it to my local dealer for that?

Bob4x4, just like with cars and trucks, the dealers are universal. You should be able to bring it to any Honda dealer, the only thing is it will be in the back of the line probably to get the tune up cause you didn't buy it there. But if you make an appointment ahead of time, you shouldn't have any problems. You will like the Rancher. Oh, and I think the first checkup is at 100 hours, at least that is how it is on the Foremans. But the first oil change could be at 10 hours. You will have to do this yourself though.

Thanks for the replys. I wasn't sure if the first check up is a warranty issue. In other words will Honda honor the warranty if I don't bring it back for the first check? Also, I will do all of the maintenance my self from there on out. Oh yeah, the ten hours was just a guess. Thanks Bob.
