i was messing around with it today and decided to take the hand guards off. I got them off and put the old bolts and nuts back in. when i went to go take it for a spin it would idle fine but when i went to hit the throttle it would just sputter. it sounded like it was out of gas or something but it wouldn't stall. So i checked the electrical connections thinking maybe that was the problem. went through made sure everything was tight and secure. everything looked fine to me. i went to start it again and it ran fine.
what do you think the problem was. do you think it was the electric?

any help would be appreciated, I don't want to be riding out on the trails and have this happed again.
thanks!!

there is all kinds of safety stuff on the new quads, make sure your parking brake switch wasnt engaged. Tell tale cause of your condition.... My opinion..

Possibly your plug just got carboned up and then cleaned itself when you restarted it. This has happend to me more than once. I'd try taking out your plug and see if it isnt covered in carbon.

Using simple logic here based on what you were working on...it WAS the parking brake switch. [There is a rev limiter that is activated with the parking brake engaged on if the switch was left "open".]

It looks as though you fixed it, but I would take a closer look to make sure the switch is connected properly.

KNOWSALOT and warrior 007 you guys were right!!

the connection for the parking is loose, right where the wire meets the parking brake. if i pull it out a little my quad won't run right.
do you have any suggestions on how to fix this so it won't come loose (electrical tape maybe)?
thanks!!

eventually the switch will wear out anyway and leave you with the same problem again. I would just do away with it all together after the warranty is up, if it isnt allready..

if your ready to do away with it now, follow the wire down the frame to its connector. unplug it, see if you have the rev limiter problem, If you do have the problem I would hook the connection back up then cut the wire leading from the connector up to the handlebar and splice them together then wrap them in electrical tape

Im not sure which way the switch functions since mine doesnt have it but if you do the above you will figure it out. its easy
