Well, after think no quad could take my rm400 two stroke, I was beat by a honda 250x. We were drag racing inside of a water storage pond that was, for the most part, dry, except for some water off to the side. Off the line, the 250x took me by a few feet. My bike found its powerband and scooted right ahead of the honda very quickly until, that is, I hit some Moist dirt....BWAAAaaaa. Bike falls off of powerband and the 250x flys by me. I will never hear the end of it
So I guess, If a 250 4-stroke can take a 400 twostroke, anything is possible. By the way, I got to drive the quad and now I can't even look at my dirtbike because I want another quad back.

Good story, but, isn't the 250X a 2-stroke as well?

Mudcovered, I am not a honda afficianado, but I do think that a "R" at the end of the quad indicates 2 stroke and "X" indicates 4 stroke.

Shessh, my bad. I have never seen a 250X but for some reason thought they were 2-stroke. Hard to beleive that a 250 four-stroke could beat a larger CC'd 2-stroke.

I had a 250X in my stable recently and ran a few races with it.

I was in second place at an arena cross before carburetor trouble sent me back into the pits. Finished my night.

I managed to finish third place with it in a Hare Scrambles race in sub zero wind chills with much larger quads[with electric satart] but still managed to finish third in my class.

Never discount the 250X. It may not be the most powerful, but is one of the lightest fourstrokes around still.
