I would like to get everyone's opinion on installing a lift kit. Is it really worth it considering the amount of stress being added to the drivetrain? Has anyone had any breakage due to the lift? Thanks.

I have seen many bikes around here with lift kits. If you run the larger tires, you may need one for clearance. I have not heard of very many bikes tearing up as long as the lift kit was not too extreme(mostly homemade jobs too tall). But as with anything there are some I have talked too that said the lift kit tore their bike up. This probably depends on how you ride your bike too. I have seen people without lift kits but aggressive tires tear up joints and other components by taking the bike beyond the extreme. I will tell you that I have seen the same two bikes, one with a lift and one without, running the same size tires and the one without the lift will stick before the one with the lift. Atvconnection has tested the lift kits from Highlifter at this site. Check under Product Reviews if you have not seen the article, it very informative.

I run the Traxter, it has the 25X10X12 rear stock tires. I installed a set of the AG tires with the 14" rims, 27X8X14, overtall they are 1" taller.
The reason for the change was to throw the mud/dirt out the back of the ATV instead of vertical, showering everyone/thing around.
Overall with 3 psi they ride nice, have super traction, of course.
Would do it again.

I have one on my 300 and ride with others who have Highlifter's kits. None of us has had any problems. Even my Honda dealer's chief mehcanic said it was well engineered and didn't pu the drivetrain in a bind. The only people I have seen with problems made their lift kits themselves and made them too tall. As long as you stay with one made for your bike from a company like Highlifter, you should be happy. Hope that helps,
