I only got into Wayne Nat'l. Forest on Sat. Had a great time running the swamps near Carbonhill. We hit the Long Run loops, too.
Anyone else?

Ernie (65chevelle) found some real challenges for his 650 Sunday. He didn't get stuck but he had to back out several times. We started at the #2 parking lot on Dorr Run. We went west and ended up in a mud hole I had never seen before. It was about 1/4 mile long and all rutted out. We finally got, in, out around, or thru it. We then headed over and did Purdum and the outside edge of the rest of Dorr Run. Then we headed up to New Straightsville on the MC and back to DR. Between that swamp and the slow going in the rough areas we only did 7 1/2 miles in the first 1 1/2 hours. My brother on his Wolverine (not the Polaris which seized up the week before) was whining and Ernie on the 650 was worried about running out of gas (or was it him that was running out not the Prairie?) so we called it quitsafter about 6 hours of hard riding. The 2WD Eiger did pretty well on the rough stuff we started on. I only had to be pulled out twice, and I was leading all day. We have been every weekend except the opening one but are taking a couple of weeks off. The week of Father's day we are going to camp and ride all week.

I am getting some good mud tires on the rears soon. How are the Sur Trax holding up on the rocks? Are they wearing well?

BK-- Glad you had fun last w.e.
The Sur-Trax are working well, only have 200 mi. on them, so don't know how long they'll last. In all the mud, we're doing good to cover 50 miles in a day. This is mainly because I have to stop a take pix of Wrecks and "ipullwrecks" going thru the bottomless mudholes in a kind of competition between Wrecks' 660 Grizz and "ipull's" Polaris!!! The machines appear to be "tied" right now, as they are very closely matched when it comes to playing in the serious mud.
Mite be able to hook up with you on Father's Day w.e., say, Sunday.(don't think I am busy)

A BUNCH OF US ARE GOING DOWN JUNE 8, AND I WAS WONDERING HOW GOOD (OR BAD) THE TRAILS ARE? I HAVEN'T BEEN TO W.N.F. SINCE LAST JUNE. THE TRAILS WERE PRETTY RUTTED UP (MOSTLY SINGLE DEEP DITCHES FROM THE 2 WHEELERS). WE WERE TRYIN TO FIGURE OUT WHEN, IF AT ALL, THEY GROOM THE TRAILS. MY 9 YEAR OLD WANTS TO GO WITH US BAD, AND I WANT HIM TO GO TOO, BUT IF ITS LIKE IT WAS LAST YEAR THOSE RUTS IN THE MC WOULD SWALLOW HIS LT80. I DONT WANT TO END UP SITTIN OUT THE WEEKEND BECAUSE HIS MACHINE WOULDN'T MAKE IT. I'M SURE I COULD WINCH OR TOW HIM UP A FEW ROUGH SPOTS WITH MY 500 BUT I'M TO OLD TO BE DOIN IT ON EVERY HILL. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK I'D APPRECIATE IT.

quadmasterbound--- The trails were groomed late in the season, last year. They are showing wear already, as it has been extremely wet there this spring. I believe that your little "racer" should be able to get around most everywhere, though. DON'T leave him home.....(he'll get even with you, later in life)!!!!LOL
I haven't spent much time over on the M-C/New Straits parts. I assume they are still in decent shape. Lately, I've been hiding over in the Long Ridge loops. VERY technical, very tight and off-camber at times. Dorr-Run is showing the usual wear, as it is very heavily used. Very rutted in places, but WHAT isn't, with the weather we've have! Good luck.....take the kid along.
