I just got my ds, No manual, it has less then 10 hr by far! I will change the oil. What oil should I use? I need to tighten the chain, any thing else?????

 

Take it to the dealer for the 10 hour service.

They will adjust the valve shims and do all the other maint. (oil and filter change, lube your zirk fittings, tighten your chain, etc.)

The valve shims are probably not something you would adjust so, best to take it to them for the first service. Also, when you go to sell your quad you can say you had the 10 hour service performed at the dealer (this should show the kind of person you are at taking care of your equipment.)

I use Castrol, it is inexpensive so it is no big deal to change my oil after a couple big weekends. You can purchase the oil filters through Bombardier Direct (catalog.) I just bought a new o-ring for the filter just in case I pinch mine. I think that is a good thing to keep on hand.

Lastly, the other good thing about taking your quad to the dealer for the 10 hour service is you can begin developing a relationship with the staff at your dealer. Make friends with the guy at the parts counter.

The service should cost $75-$150 (our dealer only charged my buddy $75 for his 10 hour service since he bought his quad there, normal price is $135 I think.)

 

Well it does NOT have 10 yet, maybe 2 hrs. I am riding this weekend for a day or so.. Will it be ok to bring it in after that????
