which would you guys pick a z400 or the 400ex

First of all some dealers have dropped the price of the 400ex so they can sell them.
The big differance is the reverse that the Z400 has and a little more power.
The choice depends on riding.
Right now (because of the market).
I woul pick the Z400 for trail riding or stock 4-stroke racing.
For racing I would go with the 400ex do to the amount of aftermarket hop-ups.
Another thing the 400ex has is a proven track record.
Remember this though aftermarket companys are working hop-ups for the Z400 and they will be out shortly and time will tell on the reliablity of thw quad.
I have and race a 91 lt250r so I know what the old problems that Suzuki had (frame & handling). Both have been solved since they went to a 400ex like goemetry.
So the question really is do you want/need reverse?
What type of riding do you plan on doing?
How soon do you plan on hoping it up?
I was planning on buying the Z400 myself but it was out when I was looking to buy a new quad so I bought the Speed instead (I'm glad that Suzuki didn't have it out cause the Speed is awesome). I race local harescrambles and started racing the Gncc's at round 5.

If I were rcing the quad at the b or c level motorcross it would be 400ex if I were going to race Harescrambles, enduro, trail ride,Desert it would be z400.Why because suzuki went way cheap on the frame and suspension I dont believe this quad will hold up to racing. For Aclass I would buy the suzuki and put the motor in a aftermarket frame spending well over what it would cost for a can.moto wise up and buy a cannondale you will be way ahead in the long run to pay now rather than later like the saying goes.

well i'm not gonna be racing cause my parents won't let me. i do alot of mudding, trail riding, and hill climbing. i don't really do huge jumps any how, i do jumps on my blaster and the suspension is probably better on the z400.
thanks for the info,
