How much utility do you need?
The Kaw Prarie 650 seems to be one of the leading true crossover bikes.
The 660 Grizz looks to be a fun ride but I have not read or heard much about them.

If you do not need a real work/utility (No Heavy towing or Hauling) the Polaris Scrambler 500 HO 4x4 is a great bike. You just need to make sure you will not need LOW RANGE. For all around riding conditions it is hard to beat, Not to mension it will keep up well with the true sports.

Your not going to beat the prairie 650 although the grizzly 660 is also a fine ride. If you'r smart you'll keep your decision between these two. All the big bores are priced about the same, give or take a few bucks but they may not all be of the same quality so why not go with the best?

Either one will impress hell out of ya compared to what you'r used to.

I'll repeat just what Dangerous said. The two best are the P650 and Griz. Go for the 650 if you really want that amazing engine and like solid axel. Griz with the IRS for real serious rock climbing or deep, deep mud. While there are several 600cc + bikes out there, consider that the P650 and the Griz keep their weight around 600lbs. Makes a big difference.
