I've done this numerous times on my Sport. It's quite simple. No need to remove the trans or engine. Just remove your front plastic off your quad. And then remove your gas tank. From there unmount the top engine bracket, carb, intake boot, and exhaust. Then all you need to do is unbolt the 4 bolts holding the cylinder on. Then the cylinder will slid right off. You may also want to go ahead and remove your head off the cylinder before pulling it off. I've done it so much I could tell you every bolt size that's on it, and have it off in about 10-15 minutes.
