The new 2003 Kodiak 400 has no low range, yes only the new 450 has the high and low range. My Question is, when you have your Kodiak in high range does it go slow enough and have power at that slow speed to do rough four wheeling or hard work?
Thanks, Wheatman.

Well for an example... my grizz lives in low range at my local riding area-fingure lakes, but not all riding torture areas are that slow, and the grizz does 42 mph in low range.

You need the low range for pulling heavy loads of dirt, etc. up hills. You will burn out your belt trying it in a high gear.

I've never used low range for play riding and I've gone up really steep hills.

If you are into climbing over rocks, etc. then low range would be a help.
