I have been playing hell with my cable on my Warn 2500 winch. Come to find out, the mounting bracket made by moose is causing all the problems.

The bracket sets FLAT on the front bumper and DOESNT sit flat to the ground. THUS putting the winch at an angle. The cable doesnt even really touch the rollers at all. It is dragging on the bracket itself!

The dealer is going to replace the mounting bracket with a warn and put a new cable on the winch for me since the one that is on there is SHOT.

I recommend, if you get a warn winch, use the WARN mounting bracket. Moose, you let me down AGAIN!

This also goes to show a good dealer is worth his weight in gold.

THANK YOU Meyers of Ishpeming.

YES, the company called MOOSE...lol

Sorry "themoose" for slandering your name!!!

BTW, it is fixed now. All that needed to be done, was spooled the wire in the opposite direction. It now feeds from the top instead of the bottom, thus eliminating the drag on the bracket. The dealer should have noticed this, but they did fix it and replaced the cable free of charge. Just an oversite, even i didnt notice until too late.

The bracket is OK, just make sure that the wire feeds from the top, not the bottom of the spool.

Now the bike is broke, in the shop. Will have another post about it. enjoy reading!
