I am in the process of getting our daughters 4 wheeler ready for her to start learning how to ride. I thought that I had everything ready and when I attempted to start the engine I could hear the starter spinning but the engine will not turn over. I removed the starter and held it against the engine case and bumpted the starter and it works. I removed the engine cover and nothing out of the ordinary looked out of place. I turned the gear that the starter rides on the opposite direction that the starter spins and I could see the cluch assembly start to turn. I was told that the starter had been replaced, can someone lead me in the direction to discover what is preventing the engine from being started by the starter.

 

get the valves checked.. i had similar problems and had mine adjusted...
