How many holes & how big, do I drill in air box lid?

Replaced coil wire, with a silicone 7mm wire, brand new. It does run better. Everything I have been doing, I have noticed it run better, but plug is still getting black
Was going to drill some holes in air box lid. What size and how many? Remember, I don't want to have to re-jet this again, by going with to big or to many holes

PS. Here is my previous link(s) on the problem.

I agree, if you're going to be cutting holes on the lid why not just take it off? You won't have to rejet (though its never a bad idea after doing any intake or exhaust modd). You should get a small gain in power

here is an idea I saw at a track a few months ago;
drill (4) 1/4" holes at the corners of the box lid about 1" from the corner. Using a carpenters square, mark a straight line between the INNER edge of each hole to the next one. With a jigsaw, cut between each hole, leaving as much of the holes intact as possible,
and lift out the square cut out piece.
Then take a 1" thick piece of cut-to-size furnace filter cut to the same size as the full box lid, and a piece of 1/4" hardware cloth cut to the same size as the filter material. With 1/4" x 7/8" standoffs and 1/4 " x 1 1/4" bolts, nuts, lockwashers, and flat washers
clamp it to the top of the filter box lid, colored side up. More air flow, less dirt in the box. Seemed to work. The guy using it had a clean plug.
