Need help keeping the front end down
#1
Ok here's the deal. My raptor is pretty quick. I'm getting ready to make it faster. I'm having problems now keeping the front end from pointing skyward. Would like to keep the stock swingarm. I was wondering if some of you drag racers could help me out on fabricating a wheelie bar and maybe even some dimension and what type of metal and so on and so forth. Any help would be appreciated.

no offence, but how fast is this thing?? lol. the only way i can get my front end to lift is climbing a real streight hill, streight up!!!lol. when you add that much power, do you have to do frame work to handle it? i am a 4x4 guy, but i sure am curious as to how fast a quad can get! thanks!!!

Right know w/o the bottle it will run 70 mph in the 1/8 mile and I way 285 lbs. The front end won't stay down till I hit fourth. In third it's not bad but any gear before that it is impossible to keep down. I ride with a few guys that their bike have hit over 80 mph and that is on straight motor. I have a buddy with a DS650 stage 2 ron woods that is on the bottle and it is rather fast. We have seen maniac650 run before and I believe this quad could take him. And if you wondering what maniac650 has it is a team Pami 760 with the dual 39 kehins.

Here's a pic of my Sand drag set up Here's my Wheelie bar & here's my Solid front struts & a front view of my sand drag set up.Both would also work on pavement. I just added the front struts at the last last race & it really helps keep the front end down. I also take a tie down & completly compress the rear suspension.
I have close ups of the wheelie bar & its mounts on My Web Site

Hey redblue 75. I was at St. Joe's on July 20th. I think I ran into your buddy on the bottle fed ds650. If he is about forty years old, brown hair, and mustache. I have a few minor mods to my Raptor. He was smoking me by 8 or 9 lengths in an 1/8th. He smoked everything out there that day. I must admit, that quad is unbelieveably fast. He said he was getting 60 horses with out the bottle. I believe it.

Yeah that was him. It also has the carbon fiber rims all the way around also. It is fast. He said he is tuning it so he can beat mine when it gets on the bottle. I don't think he will have much of a problem though. The thing is if I beat him he has about 5 others quads to go get to try to beat me with. He has 4 DS650's, a quadzilla, a raptor and a couple of utility fourwheelers. If you go to St. Joe give me a hollar at redrider_75@hotmail.com. I'm always ready to go riding. And we like adding members to our little group. Our members go from St. Louis all the way to Sikeston. Oh yeah Moose thanks for the info, if I need any more help I will be sure to E-mail you.
