Maxxis tires for blaster
#1
Hey!
I was wantin to buy the Maxxis M931 Razor Front and Maxxis M932 Razor Rear. They don't have the size for a Blaster's rear. Cheng Shin is the only manufacturer that I can find that makes the exact tires. I would appreciate ne help.

My Banshee had Razors on the rear when I bought it. I hate this tire. It slides unpredictably, doesn't supply the traction other performance tires do, doesn't look good on the bike, and has too much sidewall.
I like 1.Fast Trekkers, 2.shredders or 3.holeshots.

Well if the tire had too much side wall order a different tire and rim combo. I love the razrs, plenty of bite and slide is only uncontrollable when in powdery stuff. Grass, hard pack, and anything remotely damp bites like crazy. Fast trekkers bite good but they wont clean out for anything when trail riding in less than satisfactory conditions. Holeshots are ok I tried those too. Pattern is a bit too tight to get good bite. Shredder is a good tire pattern is spaced a little better. You could try the 20-11-8 that maxxis offers. It would be an inch shorter and an inch wider than stock I think. A little extra width shouldn't hurt too much power wise since they'll be an inch shorter. A little extra side stability is good for the blaster anyway.

Sorry about using the term "sidewall". I am used to discussing tires with my friends that run slicks on their cars and trucks. I was meaning the sidewall was too stiff. A stiff sidewall makes for a rougher ride, something the stock blaster suspension won't be able to compensate for. Stiff sidewalls also hurt traction. I am thinking mine were 22" on 10" rims.
I like the traction of the Trekkers. I have had no problems with them cleaning, but I don't ride in thick mud. They are very predictable in sand, loose dirt, grass, pavement, and everywhere else I have tried them. I also feel they are the best looking tire.
I like the cheap price and durability of the shedders. They handle good and have decent traction. I don't care for the fronts though, not enough bite.
The holeshot XCT is a great tire, but they are soft and the durability isn't great.
