I owned a few of them in the past. I had 2 1985 models and one 86. the 86 is a far better machine. All I ever did to my atc's was maintain them & ride em. I added a white bros head pipe & silencer to one of my 85's, but all I noticed was more noise. I would suggest opening the airbox lid with some holes, and adding some decent 20" tires.

i owned an 86 and rode it forever and loved the hell out of it. i put a dg rcm on mine and it helped quite a bit. it would pull alot longer and harder on the top end.

I put a Dg system on my bike and it only seems louder(lol), but everyone says the 86 will outrun and outperform the 85 200x, I just purchased a K&N filter Im praying this will make a difference, read my post for today on the performance the honda dealer gave me

I have heard that you can add a XR camshaft for more performance. The bikes had a more aggresive cam in them. It needs to be a XR200 camshaft.

83-85: 192cc 5 Speed 4 strokes

86/87: 199c 6 Speed 4 strokes (tuned down XR200 engien basically)

I own a 1987 model...only 200x worth owning I honestly will say.

Ill be repainting the frame, gas tank and engine soon and then putting it awya into storage (its a rare machine being the last 200x ever made).

My brother had a X before and it would fly by a stock 300EX , and keep up to a race-ready 300EX.It was just like new except the shock was gone.
