ramsey 2500 good or bad

I can comment only on the Warn 2500. The one that i have has pulled me out of everything. It has moved fallen tree's and pulled other ATV's out as well. I have the 6' remote with mine and love being able to winch the bike out, without climbing BACK into the muck to get to the switch. The remote also sets on the handlebar and makes it easy for plowing snow.
The only thing that i recommend with EITHER winch....get a ****** block. Will make the winch "twice" as strong and make the pull-outs easier.

I have the same Warn on a Polaris Multi-mount so I can carry it on the rear. I think there are times that a simple switch like the Superwinch handlebar mounted one would be handy. Keep in mind these switches do NOT carry the load.
That said, I would SERIOUSLY consider the new Ramsey line with wireless remotes and faster line pull. I have "0" experience with these, but Ramsey has a reputation head and shoulders above Warn on the BIG stuff.
Again, a machine mounted switch is handy, ESPECIALLY if you forget the remote!

I currently have the warn 2500lb. It has pulled me out of anything I can get in. It has worked flawless so far. But I hate the stupid way its set up. Its' got the switch on a 6ft. lead. Some peole like it, but I hate it. The last thing I want to do after I hit a mean mud hole is get off the quad and take off the seat and get the switch out. I tried keeping it out but I didn't like it being in the way. So what I do know is keep a wire wrapped around my handlebar's and take and off and jump the switch so I don't haft to get off it. If I could do it over I would definetely buy the Ramsey winch that has the remote control. That would be awesome. I contacted Warn this week and they don't have a remote coming out, but they said in 2 months they will have a new switch out,it will work with the 6ft. lead and a switch mounted on the handlebars. Good Luck
