What's up:

How's it going? I have be thinking about the Kawasaki's KLX300 dirtbike engine, and ways of fiting it into a Lakota Sport frame. I was wondering how hard it would be, and what types of things I should watch out for. I have heard that the KLX is alot like a
2 stroke, and that it also has transmission problems, I don't know for sure because I have never owned one. Has anyone here ever owned a KLX300? If anyone has please let me know how the bike was. What type of power, and relibility lies in the engine? Also I wanted to ask everyone what they thought about putting this engine in the Lakota or Mojave frame. Do you guys think it would be worth it?

Please let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas about this project, let me know. I would really appreciat it.

Also this is off the subject, but does anybody know if Snotraxx has a kit for the Lakota or Mojave, I love riding in the Mountains, but during the winter it's full of snow and I can't ride up there. One of these kits would be perfect.

Thanks

I think this could turn into an expensive project with not much gain.

The KLX300 does rev freely but it sure isn't a 2 stroke.

I can outrun a KLX300 with my KDX200 two stroke.

The KLX300 is good in the slow going areas and it is a nice trail bike.

It probably would be better to update the Mojave motor you all ready have.

That's my opinion for what its worth.

yea if you dumped the same amount of time and money into mods on either of your quads they would probley end up better than putting KLX300 engine in.

What's up:

Hey thanks guys. I wasen't sure how good of a project this would be, thats why I asked. I am still going to Mod the Mojave for sure, and I will probably do the same for the Lakota.

I just wanted to see what everyone thought, but I also don't want to spend to much money on something that wouldn't be that much better.
What the heck I'm going to mod the Lakota and Mojave as much as I can, there isn't too many tricked Lakota's or Mojave's out there!

Well, thanks again for the responses.

mojave300ex,

I was expecting the worse when I saw : see my cut fenders.

The pictures of the rear fender area look much better than stock.
