Hello fellow Kawasaki riders.

I just purchased a used 1998 Lakota this weekend. It runs great, but has a low "knocking" sound. Are the Lakota's known for this or do I have a problem? Its not loud, but after its warmed up, you can hear it if you listen carefully. Anyone else experience this with YOUR Lakota? I've heard that engines with a balancer will do this after time(the Lakota engine has the balancer). I don't know if thats true or not.

Kawasaki Klutch Klatter, probably!

Typically, Kawasakis clump and thunk harmlessly. Certainly, diagnosis of yours by remote control remains impossible; no one could tell for certain the condition of your ride without at least hearing it. But, things that go "bump" in the night often are of no consequence with Kawasakis.

Hey Tree farmer,

Now that you mention it, the sound practically dissapears after I start off. It only makes noise at idle. Thanks for the insight.
