Hello everyone,

Hello all,
I posted this on the Yamaha Forum and didn't get much response, I'm hoping that someone here can perhaps help me...
I guess I'm "Lurker" here, but I am a regular to the forum. I've searched on the above bikes but still need some advice.
I am looking for a bigger utility quad to be used for hunting. I primarily will be pulling a trailer w/ decoys into harvested corn fields and possibly hauling deer.
I have located the following:
98 Grizzly w/ 935 miles, good plastic, decent shape, Warn 2500 and 60" plow.
3700.00
99 Foreman 450 w/ 950 miles, good plastic decent shape, Warn 2000.
4400.00
Now the deal is...Money is a HUGE object, I'm going to be able to do this once and will probably have to live w/ my decision for awhile. BUT I'm not going to let 700 bucks keep me out of a better machine.
Can you all please give me some advice on which way to go? I appreiciate all of your time and look forward to the responses.
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,
I don't know much about a '98 Grizzly, but that seems like a great price, especially considering the options. Mileage is about the same, I think $700 and a plow would make me go with the Griz. Have you had a chance to ride either one?

I rode the Foreman a while ago...not recently. I haven't had a chance on the Grizzly yet. I think you're probably right, the Plow(I could actually use one) and the $$ is making me lean that way.
Trouble is, I've heard so much about the Honda reliability...

Like I said, I don't know much about the Griz, reliability, etc... But, you've got $700 to use for repairs before you get to the purchase price of the 450. I have a 2002 450 S and I love it. It seems very solid and durable, 5 speed tranny versus belt drive on the Griz seems to be the strongest case for the 450. But, it's your money. If I were in your shoes, I'd go with the Griz after I gave it a through checkout. It just seems like a better deal.
