clutch adjustment for 86 200SX.
#1
Well i need some help boys..... My 86 200SX is quite old and has been maintained fairly well. The problem is when in 4th or 5th gear and i have it pinned to the bars. I can feel the clutch slipping underneath me. this especially happens when in 5th and cruising at about 50mph. i know the right side of the machine has the clutch adjustment screw. but i did not get a manual when i bought it 9 years ago. Please if you have the no how tel me, i would try but i am not going to screw something up. Thanks guys! Ride Red!

On a cold engine, with engine off loosen the lock nut (big one) and turn the clutch adjuster (small one) counterclockwise until you feel SLIGHT resistance. then turn it 1/4 turn clockwise. Now tighten the lock nut makeing sure the adjustor doenst move. Test ride and make sure everything is cool. One way is to shift into 1st and hold the shifter up. Then let the shifter down and the quad should just barley jump forward if at all. I can E-Mail you pages our of my manual if you want, as there are oil filter's behind the clutch cover
